Born out of a passion for Baroque music, Festival Baroque Australia was the brain child of University of Western Australia Emeritus Professor Sandra Bowdler.
Armed with the artistic direction and expertise of Professor David Tunley, Professor Margaret Seares and Dr Sara Macliver, numerous events and two Festivals were held from 2008 until 2012 by the Music Department (Conservatorium) of the University of Western Australia.
The Manager and Administrator of Festival Baroque Australia was Jody Harrison.
The many U.W.A. music graduates who had specialised in early music were invited back to Perth in order to participate with the local specialists. The Festivals were deemed a tremendous success, but funding challenges saw the demise of F.B.A. in 2012.
