Alex is an Australian clarinettist based in the UK.
He is currently Sub-Principal Clarinet with the Welsh National Opera Orchestra, and has worked with the most of the major London orchestras.
He is a long-time member of Explore Ensemble, a boundary pushing new music group, working with some of the most exciting living composers, performers and improvisers in the UK and abroad.
Alex has also worked as a pianist and musical director with several large community choirs and was until recently Director of Music Programmes for Liberty Choir, a charity which creates and runs choirs in prisons, creating pathways to rehabilitation.
Alex studied with Allan Meyer and Paul Dean in Australia, before working with Nicholas Cox, Barnaby Robson and Linda Merrick at the Royal Northern College of Music.
After graduating he continued to take lessons and masterclasses with Andrew Marriner, Chi-Yu Mo, Francois Benda and Yehuda Gilad.
